Trump's $500 million "Stargate" AI project, announced on his first full day in office, is not as bad as we thought. It is infinitely worse. Now we know the AI "Manhattan Project" which Trump hawks as necessary to keep pace with China in the AI business, will keep pace in all the wrong ways. Namely, ways to control people, keep them subservient, and take their jobs away. The changes come as the Trump administration guts safety guidelines for AI.
Speaking at the AI Action Summit in Paris in February, vice president JD Vance called concerns about AI safety "hand-wring." Wired Magazine reports Vance said:
“The AI future is not going to be won by hand-wringing about safety,”
The UK Telegraph reports in "America’s $500 billion Manhattan project is an effort to make humanity obsolete":
"The most consequential action of Donald Trump’s second term so far has not been gutting DEI initiatives, ending birthright citizenship or withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement (again). It has been announcing the countdown to human obsolescence.
ChatGPT creator OpenAI, cloud computing company Oracle, UAE state investment vehicle MGX and Japanese investment firm SoftBank are embarking on the Stargate Project: a $500bn (£400bn) investment in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure across the United States over the next four years, beginning with initial work in Texas and a $100bn imminent budget."
As if to underscore the Telegraph's concerns that high-level AI and robotics will "make humanity obselete," SoftBank, one of the project's three main "partners," has already announced plans to invest $1 trillion in manufacturing-by-robots factories across the US. The financial magazine PYMNTS.com reported on March 25, 2025 in "SoftBank to Invest $1 Trillion in AI-Powered Robot Factories in US":
"Japanese tech investment firm SoftBank Group is reportedly planning to invest $1 trillion to build artificial intelligence (AI)-equipped factories in the United States.
The factories will be located in industrial parks across the country and the robots with which they will be equipped will be designed to provide a solution for American manufacturers that are facing labor shortages, Nikkei reported Friday (March 28), citing unnamed sources...
SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son... made the announcement at the Mar-a-Lago residence of then-President-elect Donald Trump."
SoftBank is one of the three main partners in the Trump Stargate Project.
Nor are only factory jobs at risk. Unbeknownst to many, AI is now doing the work of many professionals and could continue to expand into the professions as it gets more intelligent.
The ACLU wrote in 2023 of AI already having taken over much of the federal hiring process, in "How Artificial Intelligence Might Prevent You From Getting Hired":
"AI-based tools have been incorporated into virtually every stage of the hiring process. They are used to target online advertising for job opportunities and to match candidates to jobs and vice versa on platforms such as LinkedIn and ZipRecruiter. They are used to reject or rank applicants using automated resume screening and chatbots based on knockout questions, keyword requirements, or specific qualifications or characteristics."
"Citizens will be on their best behavior"
Fueling concerns that the Trump-driven AI project will realize the worst fears of Constitutional liberties defenders, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is an open and long-time advocate of mass surveillance, which some would argue constitutes unconstitutional continuous search without a warrant.
Mint Press News reported in February 2025 in "Larry Ellison Helped Track COVID Shots—Now Trump Wants Him Controlling AI’s Future":
"Oracle’s foray into AI is a relatively new development, but Ellison – the world’s fourth-richest man, per Bloomberg – has grand, dystopian plans for the technology and no compunction whatsoever about broadcasting these designs publicly.
At a September 2024 investor meeting, he bragged that artificial intelligence could be used to perpetually monitor every conceivable public and private surveillance system, from CCTV to vehicle dashboard cameras. Ellison also foresaw AI-powered drones replacing police cars in high-speed chases – “very simple in the age of autonomous drones”:
“We’re going to have supervision…at all times, and if there’s a problem, AI will report that problem and report it to the appropriate person. Citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on.”"
In 2020 Larry Ellison shared with the BBC that he viewed privacy as a thing of the past.
"The information about your banks, your checking balance, your savings balance, is stored in an Oracle database," he said in Jeffery Rosen's 2004 book The Naked Crowd.
"Your airline reservation is stored in an Oracle database. What books you bought on Amazon is stored in an Oracle database. Your profile on Yahoo! is stored in an Oracle database… Privacy is already gone."
The BBC delved into Oracle's and Ellison's beginnings as the CIA's first customer:
"Co-founder and current chairman Larry Ellison named the company after the codename given to a project for its first customer, in 1975: the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The firm was founded two years later and went on to complete contracts for the CIA, Navy Intelligence, Air Force Intelligence and the National Security Agency.
News site Gizmodo has detailed Oracle's involvement with US government intelligence community, and says it is relationship that has been "frequently ignored by people who like to pretend Oracle was just another humble Silicon Valley start-up".
Ellison has long been a fan of what is anathema to civil liberties defenders, a centralized, biometrics database of all Americans.
Mint Press News writes:
"In January 2002, he authored an op-ed for The New York Times calling for the introduction of a “single national security database” in the U.S. This centralized system would combine “biometrics, thumb prints, hand prints [and] iris scans". [Ellison said]:
"The single greatest step we Americans could take to make life tougher for terrorists would be to ensure that all the information in myriad government databases was copied into a single, comprehensive national security database…Creating such a database is technically simple. All we have to do is copy information from the hundreds of separate law enforcement databases into a single database. A national security database could be built in a few months."
Ellison bluntly advocates the kind of 24/7, total surveillance state already in place in China, where the government knows where you are, what you are doing, who you are with, and what you are buying with a few keystrokes at any minute of the day or night. Punishment for bad behavior, such as refusing an injection, is swift. One's digital currency debit cards are simply shut off, as is access to any public place or even one's own apartment.
But in order to make such a vision into reality in the US, one more thing is required: the very kind of massive database and AI infrastructure which Stargate is proposing to build. The eagerness of the government to implement such tyranny is apparent in the TSA's push toward facial recognition systems. The system does nothing to ensure that dangerous contraband is not carried aboard. It merely serves to further deprive citizens of all autonomy, and provides more data for AI and a central database.

Ellison Also Interested in Using AI to Custom Design mRNA Vaccines for Individuals
Another startling direction which Oracle's Ellison foresees taking AI is toward designing already-proven deadly mRNA vaccines for individuals.
WPTV reported on January 22, 2025, at Trump's press conference announcing Stargate, in "Stargate AI project could help create cancer mRNA vaccine, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison says":
"One of the most exciting things we're working on ... is our cancer vaccine," Ellison said. "You can do early cancer detection with a blood test, and using AI to look at the blood test, you can find the cancers that are actually seriously threatening the person. You can make that vaccine, that mRNA vaccine, you can make that robotically, again using AI, in about 48 hours."
This month HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired Dr. Peter Marks as head of the FDA, who was called the "architect" of the mRNA Operation Warp Speed vaccine by the Washington Post. In a statement on Friday, March 28, the HHS called for "restoring science" to the FDA.
In December 2024 three German scientists called for an immediate halt on all mRNA agents, including COVID shots, in the peer-reviewed Public Health Policy Journal. The scientists wrote:
“Spike protein is a highly toxic substance that causes damage to all organ systems. We can connect spike protein to vaccine-related deaths and serious adverse events as it’s been directly found in the brain, adrenal glands, heart, and blood of injured and deceased individuals.”
The "spike protein" is the key active component of mRNA vaccines. Even one of the co-inventors of the technology, Dr. Robert Malone, has come out fiercely against giving the shots to children or mandating them for adults, saying:
"a viral gene will be injected into your children’s cells. This gene forces your child’s body to make toxic spike proteins. These proteins often cause permanent damage in children’s critical organs..."
In November 2024, Yale School of Medicine Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology Dr. Harvey Risch suggested that during the years 2021 to 2023, 600,000 excess deaths in the US have possibly been caused by the mRNA COVID vaccines.
Professor Risch, MD wrotes in "Big Pharma Still Won’t Come Clean About The Covid Shot’s Deadly Side Effects":
"While the FDA and CDC continue to extol the benefits of the Covid vaccines, they have ignored a growing body of evidence that these products can also be harmful...."
Professor Risch, MD, who is the co-author of the book critical of mRNA technology "Toxic Shot: Facing the Dangers of the COVID “Vaccines”", said:
"Potential complications include myocarditis, blood clots, neurological injuries, and immune dysfunction. Pfizer’s own pre-market biodistribution studies show that vaccine components leave the injection site in the arm and penetrate every major organ system within hours, where mRNA can linger for weeks, forcing cells to churn out more and more of the toxic spike protein, which can persist for months. There is no way to predict how much spike protein the mRNA injections will produce in any individual, and there is no “off switch.”
Oracle, Which Holds Many Americans' Data, Has an Israeli CEO and Ellison Refers to Israel as His "Country"
It is well-known that Larry Ellison's and Oracle's first customer was the CIA. It is less well-known that the current CEO of Oracle is an Israeli citizen, and that Larry Ellison is an unabashed supporter of Israel and in 2017 said of Israel:
“For 2,000 years, we were a stateless people, but now we have a country we can call our own."
In August 2021, at the opening of a new Oracle data center in Jerusalem, the company’s Israel-born CEO Safra Catz declared:
"Our commitment to Israel is second to none…[if our employees] don’t agree with our mission to support the state of Israel, then maybe we aren’t the right company for them. Larry [Ellison] and I are publicly committed to Israel and devote personal time to the country, and no one should be surprised by that."
Mint Press News reports:
"In 2007, he pledged half a million dollars to support illegal settlement expansion. Seven years later, Ellison gifted $10 million to the Friends of the IDF (FIDF). Then, in 2017, he gave a further $16.6 million, the largest single donation the organization has ever received, to bankroll the construction of a new training facility for Tel Aviv’s infantry units."
Given all this, it would be a fair question to ask if Oracle would ever deny any Israeli government request for any and all private data on any American. In 2021, it was reported in the Israeli Newspaper Haaretz that Ellison had even offered Benjamin Netanyahu a seat on Oracle's board of directors, at a salary of $450,000 per year.
AI Gurus Including Elon Musk and "Godfather" of AI Call for Moratorium on Super-Intelligent AI
In May of 2023, barely noticed in the media, the biggest brains behind AI called for a pause in the progress of their own work, due to concerns that it might go out of control and endanger humanity. But the call was ignored by governments and business and quickly forgotten.
Le Monde reported:in "Elon Musk and hundreds of experts call for 'pause' in AI development":
"We must "pause" the advance of artificial intelligence, say over a thousand experts and researchers in the sector, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, in an open letter published Tuesday, March 28. They want to suspend research for a period of six months on systems more powerful than GPT-4, the new language processing model launched in mid-March by OpenAI. This is the company behind the ChatGPT chatbot, a business co-founded by Musk himself. The "pause" would serve to develop better safeguards for such software, deemed a "risk to humanity."
"Recent months have seen AI labs locked in an out-of-control race to develop and deploy ever more powerful digital minds that no one – not even their creators – can understand, predict, or reliably control," wrote the signatories, referring to announcements by OpenAI and its partner Microsoft, but also those of Google and Meta, as well as numerous start-ups.
"Should we let machines flood our information channels with propaganda and untruth? Should we automate away all the jobs, including the fulfilling ones? Should we develop nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us? Should we risk loss of control of our civilization?" asked the authors of the letter."
Also in 2023, the "Godfater" of AI, Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, quit his job at Googleand said he "regretted his life's work." The New York Times reported in May 2023 in ‘The Godfather of A.I.’ Leaves Google and Warns of Danger Ahead":
"Geoffrey Hinton was an artificial intelligence pioneer. In 2012, Dr. Hinton and two of his graduate students at the University of Toronto created technology that became the intellectual foundation for the A.I. systems that the tech industry’s biggest companies believe is a key to their future...
Dr. Hinton said he has quit his job at Google, where he has worked for more than a decade and became one of the most respected voices in the field, so he can freely speak out about the risks of A.I. A part of him, he said, now regrets his life’s work....
Somewhere down the line, tech’s biggest worriers say, it could be a risk to humanity.
“It is hard to see how you can prevent the bad actors from using it for bad things,” Dr. Hinton said."
